Rally de Mexico: Sebastien Loeb Triumphs in Latin America, Tops World Rally Championship Standings
Sebastien Loeb is super accustomed to leaving just about everyone in his dust.
Oakley’s Rally Car Superstar continued his speedy supremacy last week by tallying his sixth straight Rally Mexico race – blasting the field by more than 42 seconds. The result extends his already commanding World Rally Championship lead to a massive 66 points after three of 13 rounds.
“I am very happy,” Sebastien said, rocking his Oakley eyewear after the race. “I always win here. It is a great result for the team as well, with Mikko finishing second, a one-two for us.”
Fellow Citroen driver Mikko Hirvonen grabbed the lead early on. But a charging Sebastien saw himself power to the front mid-way through leg one. It was smooth sailing from there.
“It really has been a perfect weekend. The rally was very difficult and I had to push really hard to shake off Mikko. Once I’d built up a bit of gap I was able to control the race a bit more but I stayed alert nonetheless.”
Congratulations to Sebastien for yet another display of dominance in Mexico!
